Pam (Rowton) Dyer

Hi everyone! Pam (Rowton) Dyer here.

How nice to see some familiar names and hear how you've been doing! I think of ASL often and all the great experiences we had.

I live in the Seattle area with my husband; we've been here since 1990 after stints in Los Angeles and Chicago. I work in marketing and I'm looking for a new position at the moment -- terrific time to be job-hunting, eh?

If anyone wants to connect, I'm on LinkedIn at www.linkedin.com/in/pamdyer.

All the best,

Pam

Wendy Havens

A social gathering online, how great is that! Didn't we have something called "The Happening"? ...other memories are a party @ Michael Cole's (I think) with "You're So Vain" playing in the background...Jethro Tull concert... I visited London in 1998. Was able to walk around the school and even went to the house I lived in on Portsdown Avenue, Golders Green. They were painting it for the new renters so I took a tour of the old homestead. I have two children Kristy 31 and Tony 27. Kristy is married and we just welcomed our first grandchild, Vincent William Hott on 3/21/09. Have live in Maryland since we left London in '73. Does anyone remember David Endacott(sp?)... I think he was going into the military after graduating.

Cathy (Dostal)...Wendy Havens here! I saw your message to Devon, but didn't recognize it was you at first. Putting your maiden name in parentheses helped jog the old memory! It's great seeing the activity generated by all of us reaching out to reconnect. My memories of ASL and the friends I made there will be treasured forever.

Aah...reflecting on the importance of memories - St. John's Wood Pub in between classes drinking rum & coke and spending the rest of the day in the bathroom!

Cathy (Dostal) Green

Devon Brandorff!!! Cathy (Dostal) Green here... I couldn't believe it when I saw your name pop up on my news. So good to hear about you and your family. I was JUST in Houston visiting my brother over spring break. I live in Springfield, Missouri, have 2 grown children and teach High School Music (are you surprised)... I'd love to hear from other ASLers!

Anita Moore Anderson

Anita Moore Anderson here. Before I get any comments, yes, this is an old picture. When I started counting how many years old it is, I was shocked and appauled. But not shocked enough to post a recent picture! So live with it, 'cuz it's all you get.

Recently, ASLers have been sending posts to the Commons Room. I recognize some of the names, and will need to get out the yearbook for the rest of you. In the meantime, I am divorced and living in St. Peters, Missouri, with my son, 17 and my daughter 13. I was an elementary teacher in the Houston area (Cypress Fairbanks ISD) for many years, but moved to Missouri four years ago and have been working part time since. I keep in loose contact with Laurie Weiss, Karen Dodson, Sue Riker and Kerri Stout.

Because of the recent interest in connecting, I have created a Facebook page just for the ASL class of 1975. I spent lots of time thinking of an original name and came up with "American School in London Class of 1975" (just do a search on Facebook to find it). This will be helpful because on the previous American School in London Facebook pages, it was almost impossible to wade through all the alumns to find anyone in our class. Lots of people have joined, so why don't you? You can post as "Just fans" or if you are added as an administrator (I'll add you as soon as I verify you were at ASL in the 70's), you can post on the front page.

Not as many people have shown an interest in this page, so it will just be used as a sign post to point you to the Facebook page. So what are you waiting for? Get over there and join!
